Position: Senior Presentation Developer

Position Description

The Senior Presentation Developer serves as technical expert for both the internal design staff at Electronic Ink and its clients. The Senior Presentation Developer develops effective presentation tier solutions considering a client's infrastructure and technical needs, leveraging technology possibilities and addressing concerns raised by clients, Electronic Ink Software Architects and Design Development and Implementation Leads. This position reports directly to the Director of Design Implementation.

The candidate will work on client projects to deliver technology agnostic strategic technical consulting and to implement presentation tier solutions designed by Electronic Ink. The Lead Technologist must demonstrate passion for Electronic Ink's approach to user-centered design/development and a love of strategic consulting for clients.

Travel (primarily regional) up to 25-50% of the time (may be more depending on project demand).

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a technologist with a passion for design who has solid architecture and development experience and who enjoys and thrives in fast-paced multi-project environment deploying the right technology in support of distinctive user experiences. Exceptional communication skills are a must.

• Advise Designers and junior Implementation staff on technology considerations
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of selected off the shelf software solutions and competing products
• Develop custom business applications for Electronic Ink’s clients (in C# and/or client side scripting technologies)
• Develop and maintain expertise in at least one of the business domains served or targeted by Electronic Ink

Skills and Experience

Between 5-10 years significant IT presentation tier development experience, including leadership roles, preferably in multi-disciplinary projects. Excellent communication skills explaining complex issues in a simple coherent manner both in writing and verbally.

Technical Skills

• Ability to convert high-level user requirements into functional specifications and technical specifications
• Solid object oriented (OO) & relational design and development (OOA, OOD) capabilities
• Expertise in at least one of the following: C#, JAVASCRIPT, AJAX, FLEX, WFP, SILVERLIGHT
• Excellent understanding of web standards and the semantic web, table-less web development best practices, expertise in CSS
• Solid understanding of .NET
• Data modeling experience and relational database experience (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Sybase)
• Practical knowledge of multiple architecture
• XML/XSLT, xHTML and related display-tier development tools is required
