Electronic Inks Names David Rode Chief Operations Officer

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Electronic Ink, the leading design consultancy dedicated to improving how people interact with technology, environments, and one another, recently named David Rode as Chief Operations Officer.

For 18 years, Electronic Ink has attracted the foremost experts in the field of user-centered design, who apply proven expertise in the areas of research, design and technology. As Chief Operations Officer, Rode is responsible for managing the company’s daily procedures.

Rode brings more than 18 years of experience in business leadership to Electronic Ink. Before joining the company, he was President of Lectra Americas, a leading provider of technology solutions for the fashion industry in New York City. Previously, Rode was President and CEO of Intentia International in Chicago (now Lawson Software), a worldwide leader in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for the apparel, food and beverage, general manufacturing and wholesale distribution industries. He was President of New York-based International Operations for Information Builders, a $300 million privately-held U.S. company specializing in business-intelligence enterprise software. Rode also was a principal within the software acquisitions practice at Safeguard Scientifics, a publicly-traded holding company specializing in acquisitions in the information technology sector.

Rode spent 11 years with Milliken & Company, one of the world's largest privately-held textile, apparel and chemical manufacturers. For three years, he lived and worked in Mexico City, establishing Milliken's Latin American operations. He also lived in Tokyo, where he managed Milliken's Japanese business for two years.

Rode earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Denison University.
